THE HUNT FOR ONLINE GAMING
ARTICLE BY GHOST83
Beginning from the beginning , not from how we evolved from Mario to Ghost Recon but from decent online games like nfs most wanted and CS 1.6 .
Everthing's changed ranging from shaders to rendering pipelines (okay let's get less technical now )
it's easy to get a 1050ti, 8gb RAM beast under 45k budget and of course internet's cheaper now ... but gamers be like (my specs are less compared to xyz player , i don't have a decent internet connection)
and the gamer continues to hit the keyboard with hammers (ouch) ... the real question is
the answer is >>> Noes ( a no and a yes)
Coz sometimes it's not about budget it's about the wrong choice of hardware , improper combinations . Yeas i'm talking of bottlenecking your PC some examples include
> buying 16gb ram , i5 7th gen , moderate GPU but going for a tradational HDD !
> 16gb ram , 1070 gpu , SSD , but going with 7th gen i3 CPU
> good Cpu , SSD and less RAM
i know it was boring ... let's have another shot !
we real gamers aren't a fan of CAMPAIGN mode or offline mode ...
so to face the real gamers ... in the online world (not drugs market store) we need some real good specs (or do I?)
when racing , killing or doing chicken dinners in online games all we need is a good amount of bandwidth
*Aye can you be less technical and talk some real crap here!
Think of bandwidth as volume or relate it to bernoulli's theorem, not everyone reading this is from Science background (is anyone even still reading this?)
the thickness of pipe is the best analogy to bandwidth generally refers to how much data can be sent to or through the PC.
> so you're a limited data person (like me) , don't worry games use up 80-100 MBs in an hour unlike netflix stream which yeats up GBs of data in the same time.
if you have a single router in your home and your sister's watching beauty tips or busy making tiktok videos , dad watching prime Minister's Austrailia vlog and your mother's haunting
some new cooking recipe ... and here you're reading this blog (still !) coz you're multiplayer battles suck. The real key here is to keep bandwidth dedicated to the game,
and to not have lower priority traffic stealing bandwidth. Maybe this suggestion was lame but try this out and it might give a hike to the no. of Chickens you eat or your CSgo rank.
A technical explanation how gaming is different from youtube and downloads (certainly you can skip this)
While a video stream relies on a continuous stream of large packets (amount) of data in the download direction, online gaming is based on small packets(amount again) inboth the download
and upload directions and of couse losing a single packet can lead you to 'missing a head shot'
> get a good gaming router (they cost around 2 - 2.5 k)
> get a dedicated GPU
> disable useless services which eat up your resources
> keep a track of the bandwidth allocated to every user
> use 5ghz bandwidth if available
if you loved it (a big question mark here) please comment down below your views , suggestions , feedback (also your card details if you're generous XD).

Does online gaming consume much DATA ?
