IS ANTI-VIRUS REALLY PROTECTING YOU?

 -by ghost83

Can't start the blog with the explanation of *What is a virus ?* it's not about explaining things it's about getting views .... enough joking let's do some
serious talk now.

But the basics always comes first a programme built to harm / play with your device in any ways possible because it loves doing it (maybe)
And all of us from th-7th standard learnt that an antivirus is a software / programme or maybe a magic stick to (void) viruses and other malwares (technically it'sthe same as of a virus now some from cs background might bombard the comment section with *aye virus , worms and trojans are different* but IDK :p )

But my topic was about antivirus. Whether you're a business guy, or a beauty queen or a kernel developer (like me) or any human being that uses a computer
*with internet* of course it's not 2003 every house has a good pc with avg of 250+ kbps speed. I'm not much into campaigns and surveys but i've heard this like

a billion times *be safe over the internet it's a diverse place* infact my mom beat me up like a dog when she found out pornhub in my top recommendations (but aye
keep this a secret).

Can antivirus really protect you?

> no, not every time. First thing you ought to know is that free antiviruses are of no use the Second fact might make you feel happy ie. Windows already has the best antivirus which is truly optimised for the smoothest workflow no matter how you use your pc. But is it really trustworthy ?

maybe no , a big no. I just realised i've been wasting your time since the starting syllabil because i didn't explain how an antivirus works (forgive me readers and my future friends). just like every teenager an antivirus is given a list of DO's and DONT's and trust me it follows every instruction and remembers the information with complete integrity. So what instruction / information is contained in the list?
>type of malware / structure or the entire code of specific virus programmes
or in layman terms

-> it knows what a normie virus looks like and it can protect your pc from that type or that particular virus.

#Aye dude my pc does has a free Avast antivirus what's the difference bw mine and the paid version of the same antivirus

> (wish i had a license to kill people like you) dude let's get the answer to your marvelous question straight , The antivirus you have rn in your pc is more like a
programme which's caping your resources and doing nothing for you , yes they are somewhat useful as they also work the same way as the real one does but the one you hold is far away from avast community and does nothing rather than detecting the most common viruses.

It's not only about malwares but other things like protecting from spamming , phishing attacks and even Ransomware(might explain this later).
So what antivirus do i need?

> they come as Enterpise , basic , total security , internet security. ( depending on you and your uses you can make your choice)

Main thing is to configure the firewall and your anti-virus to meticulously ... it matters the most. My suggestion ->  Rely on  WindowsDefender and don't go for third
party antiviruses , it's a lot more secure than people think and always download stuff from proper sites and stores. Please don't use torrents even you're running on
an Antivirus. Most Ransomware sources are Cracked softwares and games ... because no one wants to spend $80 for an adobe software and we prefer downloading cyberpunk
from torrents rather than purchasing it for 3k+.

Thanx a bunch if you're eyeballs are floating over this text, With your love and support I got Ad-sense in my first
blog. You guys mean a lot please tell me in comments how you feel and Suggestions are always welcomed, Thank you guys.

  1. Yeap , windows defender is still the best (I wish Microsoft could hire me for this) but you need to configure it properly and do regular scans also as I mentioned take care of what you download and where from , Stay safe , Thanx.

  2. Downloading movies from torrent sites is still harmful if I have a paid antivirus??

    1. Yes, it can give you some security but not upto the mark ! most of the torrent files contain "POLYMORPHIC VIRUS" and it is difficult for the anti-virus to detect them , even if they are paid.

    2. Mostly the ransomware risks are associated with torrent files thus you can download torrents but keep a track of files and folders
